Your Visit to the airfield

You should find the answers to most questions here or on other pages of our website but if there is something we haven't covered just drop us an e mail, phone or text.

  • Family and friends are welcome to come along and spectate but please ensure young childeren are supervised at all times.

  • Well behaved dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead and under close control at all times; propellors and dogs dont mix at all well !

  • Just wear sensible cothing on the day and dress as if you were going for a walk. The aircraft has an enclosed cockpit so is well protected from the elements but if needed we can supply you with a thermal flying suit and gloves to keep you warm as toast.

The Weather

  • Our aim is to give you a memorable flight for all the right reasons so it is sometimes necessary to cancel your flight due to the weather. Sometimes the weather on the ground can be quite pleasant but at 1000' it can be a very different story!

  • We may actually be flying even though we have cancelled your flight, This is because we have to train student pilots to fly in less than perfect conditions so that they are prepared for all eventualities once they get their pilots licence.

If you are unfortunate enough to have your flight canceled we will reschedule at a mutually convenient time. Whilst we will always try to cancel you in good time the weather can change quite rapidly so this is not always possible.

Pilots Lounge.

The pilots Lounge is comfortably equiped with leather sofas and a dining area.

New for 2015 is the addition of WiFi and a flatscreen Smart TV to enable pilots and students to access the latest online flight planning tools or just relax and watch TV.

Friends and family acompanying someone lucky enough to have a gift voucher are welcome to use these facilities and we usually have a few DVD's and games etc around to keep young children entertained for the duration.

Tower Viewing Area.

The top level of the tower is the office of Fly Scotland.

We have a large viewing area which allows superb views over the airfield where you can watch aircraft coming and going.

Access is via a flight of steps to the side of the tower and as usual children must be closely supervised at all times.

Food And Drink.
Within the Pilots Lounge is a small catering facility where you can purchase hot and cold drinks and snacks such as
  • Bacon Rolls
  • Toasties
  • Soup
  • Sandwiches
  • Crisps
  • Chocholate bars
